you require to achieve the best results. Be it Copy Writing, Copy Editing, Graphical
Data Representations, Type Setting, Data Management and Asset Management.
Quality control is integrated into each process. Material received is checked
for damage, missing components, etc. Special instructions and feasibility of
using data supplied, etc. are analyzed. Discrepancies found are immediately
discussed with the client for instant resolution. After material scrutiny, a
detailed datasheet listing all major instructions to be followed during
execution is prepared.
Formatted, paginated pages are printed on color laser printers and Proof-Read
(checked for style, hyphenation and mark-up errors).

operators to effect corrections with utmost care, caution and diligence.
A pre-final check is conducted to cross-verify with previously marked pages for
any omission of errors before the final sweeping overall check.
Engagement Process Flow
- Teams are allocated to customers to create and maintain familiarity with each individual
requirement. Executives, Supervisors and Systems operators work in teams and each job goes
through several cycles of verification within the team before it is released for Fulfillment.

The marketing and production units work in specialized teams linked together by LAN / WAN
connectivity and Groupware applications that support Work-flow automation and data sharing,
ensuring strict adherence to tight schedules that are agreed to with customers.

Frequently, manuscripts are accompanied by a soft copy on disc. Data is accepted
in various formats and is converted to a standard word-processing format before it
is edited or submitted for pagination.

Adobe Pagemaker is the standard pagination software used in the Manipal Press.
Backgrounds or special illustrations are imported in TIFF & EPS formats.

Advanced Computers (PC, Mac and SGI) with applications like Coreldraw, Pagemaker,
Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand etc. are used to edit graphics.

Leading edge applications like 3B2 for Pagination, LaTex for editing, SGML Data Coding, etc.

Security jobs like Cheques, Bank Drafts, Share certificates, etc. are designed using proprietary
Security Designing Software developed by leading companies in Europe specifically for
Manipal Press Ltd.
Manipal Press has a state-of-the-art graphics department

- High Resolution Scanning, including halftone and transparencies

Process Overview
